I-MAP IED IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE FIELD LOCATING & MAPPING KIT

The I-MAP IED Individual Field Locating & Mapping Kit is designed to help the operator identify and mark mines/explosive devices in day or night scenarios.

Features:

• Simple and compact kit that can be carried by the soldier or attached to their webbing platform.
• Pouch can be mounted on MOLLE or PAL type systems.
• Completely non-magnetic titanium mine detection wand is used to locate the unexploded devices.
• The wand, once extended, is 400mm long comprising either the trowel or the wand probing point (excluding the handle).
• 100mm extensions are knurled at strategic locations that enable the operator to put the wand together and to take it apart with gloves either on or off. Tests showed that, under hot stress conditions, this small addition makes the unit easier to operate.
• Non-magnetic, black, plastic, ergonomic handle that is designed for prolonged use.
• Includes a specifically designed and shaped titanium trowel that can be attached to the end of the wand to enable the operator to remove debris from around the item of interest.
• Also includes a non-magnetic trip wire to help the operator feel for wires.
• Luminous paint coating on the pegs allows them to be seen in low light conditions.

Directions for use:

Once located the operator can mark the explosive with a red peg. At night 2 x 1.5 inch red light sticks can be inserted to help indicate the area to avoid.

The operator can then peg out a safe route via application of the green marker pegs and again for night time a green 1.5 inch light stick can be inserted into the top of the green peg.
