The NVMT 2 (3x42) is the best selling NVMT and is possibly the most versatile in the NVMT line. It's magnification is high enough to use for long-distance observation, but it is compact enough to fit in a pocket. This affordable, compact, lightweight monocular provides comfortable viewing and versatility for numerous activities. It's perfect for the outdoor enthusiast to take from a sporting event to a hunt. The Yukon's exclusive PULSE™ system Infrared (IR) Illuminator provides infrared lighting for an enhanced image, while staying invisible to the human eye and animal's eyes. The PULSE™ system utilizes quick IR energy bursts that penetrate further to increase distance, visibility and image quality, without significant battery drainage or untimely IR burnout. The NVMT 2 (3x42) has a high enough magnification to use for long-distance observation, but also provides a lightweight, durable body that makes it easy to carry without hassle.
The ergonomically designed, durable, RUBBER ARMOR™ body fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and can fit in your pocket for those quick escapes. It's perfect for travel and prolonged use.

I used the NVMT in an open field with 1/4 moon.
Works well, able to spot foxes easily at approx 80-90m using the IR light.
If you're looking to be able to see reasonable detail out to approx 100m at night this is for you.
For the price its good value.
