The natural design of shark skin, this material is innovative the  fabric provides unparalleled protection, water resistance, and flexibility. Just like on a shark !

New for 2025 the GEN 2 soft shell jackets now incorporates a different color scheme with 3 black panels and new a new low profile composite polar fleece lining.

Is this jacket waterproof?

The RECON GS2 GEN 2 Shark Skin Jacket features a wind-resistant and water-resistant soft shell outer fabric designed to provide protection against light rain, wind and changing weather conditions.

It is not advertised as fully waterproof and is not intended to replace a dedicated waterproof rain jacket in prolonged heavy rain.

Is the jacket suitable for cold weather?

Yes. The GEN 2 jacket incorporates a low-profile polar fleece lining designed to provide warmth without excessive bulk. For colder conditions, suitable layers can be worn underneath.

Does the jacket have an adjustable hood?

Yes. The jacket features an adjustable hood with bungee cord adjustment. The hood can also be rolled back and secured when not required.

Does the jacket have storage pockets?

Yes. The jacket features multiple zipped utility pockets, including chest, sleeve and rear storage, providing convenient access to personal items and small equipment.

Can I attach military or unit patches?

Yes. The jacket features colour-matched hook-and-loop patch attachment fields on the upper arms, approximately 80 mm × 80 mm.

Patches and insignia shown in product photographs are not included unless specifically stated.

What size should I order?

This jacket features a relatively slim, body-contoured tactical fit.

Please refer to the Kit Bag size chart and select the appropriate Australian chest size before ordering.

If you prefer a more relaxed fit, intend to wear additional clothing underneath, or fall between sizes, consider selecting the next size up.

Why might the size label inside the jacket differ from the size I ordered?
