Designed for long hours in the field, the RECON GS2™ PATROL™ is far more than a conventional poncho.

This versatile all-in-one outdoor system combines a quilted 5-layer construction, wind protection and generous full-body coverage in a lightweight, portable design. Wear it as a protective poncho during patrols or sentry duty, open it out as an emergency or camp blanket, or configure it for additional warmth as an improvised sleeping system.

Ideal for patrols, sentry posts, perimeter duty, camping, hiking, hunting, overlanding and general outdoor use, PATROL™ is designed to provide warmth and protection without the bulk of traditional cold-weather equipment.

5-Layer Quilted Construction

The PATROL™ uses a multi-layer insulated  anti bacterial barrier construction designed to retain warmth while remaining comfortable and portable.

Construction includes:

• Durable poly-weave outer fabric

• Protective barrier layer

• Pure cotton inner layer

• Additional protective barrier layer

• Quilted insulation layer

Together these create a five-layer protective system providing warmth, wind protection and improved comfort in changing outdoor conditions.

Will fit adults up to 1.90 meters and not below 1.50 meters in height. The average male is 1.71 and female 1.59 so should fit most people .

Three Ways to Use It

Wear It as a Poncho
Provides excellent upper and lower body coverage while allowing freedom of movement.

Use It as a Blanket
Open the PATROL™ out to create a generously sized quilted field, camp or emergency blanket.

Use It as an Improvised Sleeping System
The insulated construction allows the PATROL™ to provide additional warmth and protection when used as a simple field sleeping system.

Adjustable Hood
Integrated hood with drawcord adjustment provides additional protection around the head and neck.

Quick-Release Buckle
Allows the poncho to be tightened and secured around the body when conditions change.

Adjustable Neck Drawcord
Helps control fit around the upper body and reduces exposure to wind.

Adjustable Hem Drawcord
The lower hem can be drawn in to improve protection against wind and retain warmth.

FAQ

Is the PATROL™ only designed for tactical use?
No. Although developed with patrol, sentry and field applications in mind, it is equally suitable for camping, hiking, hunting, overlanding and general outdoor use.

Can it be used as a blanket?
Yes. The poncho can be opened out to approximately 152.4 × 203.2 cm, providing a generously sized insulated blanket.

Can it replace a sleeping bag?
PATROL™ can be configured as an improvised sleeping or emergency insulation system, but it should not be considered a temperature-rated replacement for a dedicated sleeping bag in extreme conditions.

Does it include a storage bag?
Yes. A compression stuff sack is included, with the packed unit measuring approximately 32 × 40 cm.

Is the hood adjustable?
Yes. The hood incorporates a drawcord, with additional adjustment provided around the neck and lower hem.
